ANNIVERSARY

Ivar and Renate Kljavin

60th Anniversary

Ivar and Renate Kljavin are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

Ivar was born in Tallin, Estonia, in 1932 and Renate was born in Graz, Austria, in 1933. Ivar and Renate were married in Guam on Dec. 15, 1954. Ivar had escaped the Russians and went to Germany in 1944, and then immigrated to the U.S. in 1949. Renate emigrated with her family from Austria to Canada in 1951 and then immigrated to Guam in 1954.

Ivar was in the U.S. Air Force when they met, and Renate was with her family while her father was working as a doctor for the government of Guam. They were married in a beautiful ceremony in Guam with their friends and family.

After completing his service term with the Air Force, Ivar and Renate moved to Long Island, N.Y., where Ivar worked for Grumman Aircraft Co., conducting avionics flight tests. In 1960, they moved to Boise with Hughes Aircraft working on the Titan 1 missile project. In 1972, they purchased the Pines Resort in Coeur d'Alene where they owned and operated it until 2005.

They have two children and four grandchildren: Ivar Jr., his wife, Noelyn and his two children, Angelo and Kahtarina live in Pacifica, Calif.; Monica, her husband, Steve and two children, Nicole and Marcus live in Coeur d'Alene.

Larry and Dorothy Sumner

50th Anniversary

Larry and Dorothy Sumner will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at the Grail Restaurant on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014.

Their children are Lang Sumner of Coeur d'Alene and Amber Youmans of Hayden.

The couple were married on Dec. 12, 1964, in Phoenix, Ariz. They have four grandchildren.

ENGAGEMENTS

Terry-Galloway

Mike and Viki Terry are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Leigh Terry, to Frank "Mikey" Galloway, son of Frank and Sandra Galloway of Milwaukee, Wis.

Stephanie graduated from Lake City High School in 2010. She currently lives in Jacksonville, N.C., where she met and became engaged to her best friend, Mikey. She works as a health coach/clerk at a health food store.

The wedding will take place at Valleypoint Church in Spokane Valley on Saturday, Dec., 13, 2014. The ceremony will be officiated by Stephanie's father, Pastor Mike Terry. The couple will be living in Jacksonville after the wedding, while Mikey is working on a psychology degree and ministers with the Navigators.

Christian-Koivisto

Brent and Michelle Christian of Coeur d'Alene are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashlynn MaeLee Christian to Karrson Robert Koivisto, both of Tigard, Ore., son of Rex and Joan Koivisto of Clackamas, Ore.

Ashlynn graduated from Lake City High School in 2007 and the University of Oregon in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He is an assistant relationship manager at Northwest Bank in Lake Oswego, Ore.

Karrson graduated from Clackamas High School in 2006, Western Oregon in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree and Warner Pacific College in 2013 with a Master of Science degree in management and organizational leadership. He is an associate product manager at Gerber Knives in Tigard.

The couple will be united in marriage on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, in Portland, Ore.

MISSIONARIES

Thomas Daniel Linsenmann, 20, of St. Maries, was recently called to serve a two-year mission to the Honduras Coma-yaguela Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is the son of Neil and Mary Linsenmann. Thomas graduated from St. Maries High School in 2013 and worked for Stillwater Electric. He attended the Young Single Adult Branch in Post Falls and entered the Missionary Training Center in Mexico City on Nov. 26, 2014.

Natalie Shawn Darley, 21, of Rathdrum, will serve an 18-month mission to the Rancagua Chile Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is the daughter of Bruce and Cynthia Darley of Rathdrum. Natalie was homeschooled and graduated in 2011. She has had some college training at Moorpark College. She is a very gifted digital artist. Sister Darley entered the Missionary Training Center in Santiago, Chile, on Dec. 3, 2014.
