SANDPOINT — The East Bonner County Library is gaining more elbow room as its role within the community expands.

The library district announced on Monday that it has acquired an adjoining parcel on the west side of the library.

“It was just really nice to have a space right next to the existing library so that we can expand,” said Ann Nichols, library director.

The district was hunting for a rental property for its Make-It program when the adjoining parcel went up for sale. The Make-It program is aimed at getting teens and preteens excited about science, technology, engineering, art and math to ready them for the present and future job market.
