EAST WENATCHEE - It was a battle of Columbia Basin Big Nine unbeatens Tuesday afternoon at Eastmont Lanes in East Wenatchee.

The Wildcats rode the advantage of being at home and edged the Chiefs on total pins, 2,048-2,010.

"I was really pleased with the way the girls bowled," head coach Billy Brice said. "We ran into a little buzz saw there. There was lots of strikes thrown at us and we just couldn't get a string going, but I was really happy with the girls picking up most of the spares, which kept us in that. I'll take that any time."

Eastmont took advantage of the familiar lanes early and bowled a 938 to Moses Lake's 848 in the first game.

Rebecca Benavidez paced the Chiefs with 189 pins. Mikayla Moreno and Liz Busherd had 187 and 159 pins, respectively.

"They were getting a lot of breaks," Brice said. "My girls were getting lots of spares, but they were striking and we weren't but we were picking up spares and hanging in there."

Moses Lake rallied to take the second game 836-763.

Moreno led with 183 pins, followed by Busherd's 179 pins.

The Wildcats retook the lead with a 30-pin win in the first Baker game, 191-161.

Moses Lake won the final Baker game 165-156, but couldn't overcome the total pin deficit.
