Students' projects mix ideas, learning

SANDPOINT — Video games are a major passion for Breann LaBorde, especially when it comes to their portrayal in media.

Likewise, the potentially unfair business practices of music streaming services like Spotify have been on Mark Slippy’s mind lately.

They were just a few of the topics selected by students at Wednesday’s Sandpoint High School Senior Project Expo, which intersected personal passion with education. School staff invited local community leaders to ask questions and hear presentations on the students’ topics of choice.

“(The students) are really proud and excited,” said SHS Principal Tom Albertson. “It takes a team effort to pull this off, but it’s well worth it.”
