Columbia Falls took top honors among smaller schools at the Flathead Invitational speech and debate meet on Dec. 13 with 93 points. Loyola was second with 38 points.

The Wildcats had several all-around second-place finishes. Annabel Conger and Colin Norick were second in policy debate, Ava Chisholm was second in humorous oral interpretation, and Meredith Stolte was second in impromptu speaking.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
