The Columbia Falls boys took seventh and the girls took ninth at the Butte Invitational swim meet on Dec. 13.

Colton Babcock won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1 minute 53.17 seconds. He took second in the 100-yard butterfly at 55.56.

The Wildcats placed second in the boys 400 freestyle relay at 3:55.79. Babcock, Zayne Friar, Jacob Hohman and Kaleb Bagley each swam a leg. They shaved five second off their previous best time, coach Mike Nelson said.

“It was an excellent ending to a great meet,” Nelson said.

Friar also took second in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:04.46.

The Wildkats took ninth in the 200-yard medley relay at 2:15.47. Karyssa Nelson, Hayden Pierce, Analise Henjum and Ashley Caffrey each swam a leg.

Nelson was fourth in 100 backstroke at 1:08.17. Pierce took eighth in the 200 intermediate medley relay at 2:54.89 and eighth in the 100 breaststroke at 1:27.40.

“Hayden did well, showing she is also very good at the breast stroke,” Nelson said.

Henjum was 12th in the 100 breaststroke.
