Bobbitt re-elected as Seattle Bank's Idaho director

David Bobbitt, chairman and chief executive officer of Community 1st Bank in Post Falls, was re-elected to serve as Seattle Bank's member director from Idaho.

He was elected to a four-year term commencing Jan. 1, 2015, and ending Dec. 31, 2018.

Bobbitt chartered Community 1st Bank in June 2007, and the company has since expanded to $95 million in assets.

Seattle Bank is a financial cooperative that provides liquidity, funding and services to enhance the success of its members and support the availability of affordable homes and economic development in the communities it serves. Seattle Bank is one of 12 Federal Home Loan Banks in the United States.

Seattle Bank serves Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming, as well as the U.S. territories of American Samoa and Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Members include commercial banks, credit unions, thrifts, industrial loan corporations, insurance companies and non-depository community development financial institutions.

Dougherty & Associates adds new employees

Dougherty & Associates, CPAs in Post Falls, announced the addition of two new staff members to the firm.

Aaron Bivens, CPA, is a tax manager. He provides tax compliance, planning and consulting services for small- and- medium-sized businesses and individuals. Bivens is a graduate of Central Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting as well as a Bachelor of Science in exercise science.

Bivens has a decade of experience in all areas of tax preparation, with expertise in construction, hospitality, professional services, retail, agriculture, and farm and ranch taxation. Originally from Ellensburg, Wash., Bivens is licensed in both Idaho and Washington. He and his wife have four children, and enjoy spending time with family and golfing.

Kim Marsh has also joined the staff at Dougherty & Associates as administrative assistant and office coordinator. She performs clerical and administrative duties, tax return processing and customer relations management for the firm.

Marsh has studied at Boise State University and has extensive experience working in client relations, administration and office management. Originally from southern Idaho, she and her husband enjoy camping, archery, traveling, and are eager to get acquainted with the people and recreational activities in North Idaho.
