Deer killed and wasted in Trout Creek

TROUT CREEK – A poaching incident near Trout Creek was discovered last week near Highway 200.
The poaching case, occurring west of the town involved several deer and state wildlife officials are currently conducting an investigation.
According to Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game warden Troy Hinck, seven whitetail bucks were found dead with their antlers removed and a majority of the animals’ meat left wasted.
“It certainly is a disgusting thing,” Hinck said.
Hinck, a warden based out of Thompson Falls noted FWP is seeking public assistance in resolving the incident.
Anyone with information about the poaching case is asked to call Hinck at 406-240-2271.
