Ludwig joins Best Western Plus University Inn as executive chef
The Best Western Plus University Inn in Moscow has hired Dana Ludwig as executive chef.
With 25 years of culinary experience, Ludwig most recently served as sous chef at Beverly's Restaurant at The Coeur d'Alene Resort.
"I absolutely love food and cooking," he said. "I've found that being a chef is not just a job. It's being a teacher, mentor and a leader."
Growing up in California, he learned the love of food from his grandmother, and his first job at age 14 was clearing tables at a waterfront restaurant in Wisconsin. He went on to become an executive chef in the Southern California wine country, as well as heading up three restaurants for Silver Mountain Resort, including extensive banquet and catering management.
One of his priorities is sourcing local food to create new menu items. His role also includes banquets and catering, as well as serving the property's newly expanded convention facilities.
"Dana brings a wealth of experience in group business, which is an excellent fit for our beautiful new facilities, allowing us to serve significantly more and larger groups," said Mike O'Brien, general manager.
"In addition, his creativity gives us new firepower in the kitchen and will really help Seasons Restaurant reach its full potential."
Located at 1516 Pullman Road in Moscow, Idaho, the Best Western Plus University Inn has 173 guest rooms with complimentary Wifi, 12,000 square feet of meeting space and complete food and beverage options. The hotel offers an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and fitness center, and provides complimentary shuttle service to and from the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport.
