SANDPOINT - Negotiations may resolve criminal charges against a man who is accused of obtaining Idaho resident hunting and fishing privileges while living in Arizona.
Christopher Scott Quayle is charged with five counts of purchasing the wrong class of license from 2009 to 2013. He is pleading not guilty to the misdemeanor charges.
Quayle was one of 44 people who were identified as applying for resident hunting licenses in both Idaho and Arizona, according to court records. The investigation was conducted jointly by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
Quayle has addresses in Sagle and Scottsdale, Ariz., court records indicate.
Quayle, 44, was interviewed by conservation officers from both states and said he owns homes in both states. He told the officers he purchased non-resident hunting and fishing privileges for Idaho, although records show he purchased resident licenses from various vendors in Bonner County during a five-year period.
Quayle was also cited for license violations in Arizona, according to court documents.
Quayle is scheduled to be tried next month in Magistrate Court, but negotiations are underway in an attempt to resolve the matter beforehand.
