EPHRATA - A Quincy man was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for a variety of charges including burglary, firearms theft, domestic violence and assault.

Juan Blancas, 30, pled guilty to the charges in Grant County Superior Court last week to avoid a stiffer jail sentence, according to court documents.

In July, a Moses Lake man reported to police that cash and four guns including an AK-47 with a 35-round magazine, valued at $1,000, were stolen from his home. The man said he acquired the guns through trades and none were registered to him.

The victim told police he thought Blancas stole the guns because he recognized him from surveillance footage captured by a home security system during the theft, according to the police report.

The victim said he also previously worked with Blancas at a painting business.

The guns are still missing, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

A week later, a Quincy woman reported three expensive watches and other jewelry were stolen from her home during a burglary, according to police.

She also had surveillance footage that captured a Hispanic male stealing the items and fleeing from the house.

A neighbor told police Blancas jumped a fence into a backyard he was in and tried to sell him two fist fulls of jewelry, according to the police report.

Blancas pled guilt to 17 charges including domestic violence, violation of a protective order and assault, according to court documents.
