Welcome to Willamette
Nils Rosdahl | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 10 years, 1 month AGO
With a temporary move from Riverstone to Suite 102 of 850 W. Ironwood Drive, Willamette Valley Bank has taken the place of the area's former Goldwater Bank. In about three months Willamette Valley Bank will move from its Ironwood location to a large location in Sherman Plaza at 704 E. Sherman Ave. (next to Subway).
With its mortgage division as an emphasis of the community bank, eight of the employees are loan consultants led by regional manager Jeremy Wallis and sales manager Steve Novotny.
"We specialize in residential home loans and refinances," Novotny said. "Our office has many years of experience, and we pride ourselves in doing what's right for our clients, referral partners and our community."
Willamette Valley Bank has 16 branches, including in Priest River, and its headquarters is in Wilsonville, Ore. Hours in Coeur d'Alene are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Phone 292-4213. Check www.willamettevalleybank.com.
North Idaho Cider opens
With the first federal license issued to a cidery in Idaho, North Idaho Cider is offering its first dry-hopped cider that will be available on tap in bars and pubs. A dry cider without hops will be available soon. A third product will be available in bottles in the spring.
A tasting room and growler sales will be open a few weekday evenings and Saturday afternoons at the production facility in the PAC building at 11100 Airport Drive in Hayden. The Facebook page of Lake City Cider will have updates on product availability.
Key people are Greg and Marla Thourhag, Cornell University graduates who discovered cider in Europe and started a cider apple orchard in St. Maries. They are joined by a trio of home-brew experts in Matt Peterson (finance officer), Jeff Selle (recipe and blend master) and marketeer Keith Allen.
The website is www.northidahocider.com. Contact Allen at keith@northidahocider.com or 660-8452.
Hayden Furniture Depot opens soon
Quality new and refurbished used furniture and home decor will be available at Hayden Furniture Depot when it opens soon at 9424 N. Government Way (next to the Hayden Exchange Thrift Store).
Owners are Steve and Debbie Thompson. Debbie is the office manager, and Steve Thompson and Heather Sheeks-Noonan refinish furniture.
Hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Phone 818-4242 or 762-6854.
Many changes at Riverstone
Details are soon forthcoming on many changes in the Riverstone complex.
Watch for Melone's Culinary Public House in the previous Mill Public House space and Sola Salon Studios in the previous Goldwater Bank space, both on Old Mill Loop (next to Starbucks). Physzique Fitness Training will be north of Azteca Restaurant.
A "sold" sign is at the 10.5-acre piece at the Seltice Way entry to Riverstone. Chris Schreiber of Kiemle-Hagood Realty said the buyer is Whitewater Development, which owns the many apartment buildings on the southwest end of Riverstone.
And now for the Tidbits
- Another interesting "sold" sign is on the former 40.8-acre IFI lumber mill site south of the Seltice Way-Atlas Road intersection. This includes 3,740 feet of Spokane riverfront. Realtor John Beutler of Century 21 may tell us after Dec. 30.
- Watch for Timber Gastropub in the former Hot Rod Cafe building, news of The Cellar Restaurant, Extension Addiction Salon on Government Way and Massage Envy in Ironwood Square.
- The capitalization of titles depends on how "proper" they are and whether they are before or after a name. Usually capitalize them in front of a name. Lowercase them if they are more like job descriptions. If you're unsure, put them in commas after a name.
- Cashtration is the act of buying a house and becoming financially impotent.
- A real headline: "Farmer Bill Dies in House."
