2 injured in accident near George

At 1:10 p.m., Mario Quintero, 33, of Pasco, was driving a 2005 Kia Sedona east on Road 2 Northwest and stopped at a stop sign, about two miles north of George.

As Quintero entered the intersection his vehicle struck Michael Lindell, 40, of Washougal, who was driving a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck south on state Route 281, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Quintero and his passenger Rebecca Quintero, 61, of Kennewick were injured and transported by ambulance to Quincy Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Lindell was not injured.

Both vehicles received reportable damage and were impounded.

Quintero was cited for failing to yield, according to the patrol.
