This winter, the city of Kalispell has begun a campaign — “Let’s Go Clear the Snow” — to help residents remember that shoveling sidewalks is everyone’s responsibility and is an important civic duty that helps ensure walkable, vibrant neighborhoods.

According to Kalispell Municipal Code, property owners need to clean sidewalks in front of and adjoining their property within 72 hours of a snow event.

Central business district owners should remove snow by noon on the day that snow accumulates.

Help out your elderly or handicapped friends, family and neighbors and make Kalispell an inviting, accessible place to visit and live.

If you notice an address where a homeowner or business is forgetting to shovel their sidewalks in your neighborhood, give Public Works a call at 758-7720.

The city crews clear snow from roads for minimal snowfall during regular work hours and during off hours for snow accumulations greater than 3 inches.
