Party avoidance cause for call

A man called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report his wife had gone missing the day before. He suspected she left to avoid going to a Christmas party, and wasn’t in any actual danger.
A woman called to report that her neighbor had allegedly pawned a borrowed rifle.
A man called police because his ex-wife was reportedly refusing to let him spend time with their child over the holidays. Officers spoke to both parties and they agreed to work it out without involving law enforcement further.
A 5-year-old accidentally dialed 911 while playing with a phone. The child’s older brother spoke to police and said everything was fine.
A man reportedly went on to a woman’s property and tore up a boat cover.
A woman called to report that she had left her laptop at a friend’s house, and that the friend was now refusing to give it back. The friend claimed she had returned the laptop to the woman, leaving it “by the stairs.”
A landlord called deputies for help collecting money allegedly owed by a former tenant.
A caller on Meadow Lane was concerned because it sounded like there was a small child screaming for help outside. Deputies found no noise and nothing suspicious in the area.
A caller reported a community mailbox had been left unlocked by the mail deliverer, and was concerned because everyone’s mailboxes were “wide open.”
A woman was reportedly detained for shoplifting at a U.S. 2 East store in Kalispell.
The Whitefish Police Department was called when a woman allegedly refused to leave a Karrow Avenue residence.
A man reported that his vehicle had been broken into on Wisconsin Avenue and items stolen while he was at work.

A man called to report a “dog that constantly barks” and wanted something done about it.
A woman called police to ask if taxis were running Wednesday evening. She allegedly said she had no pen or paper to write down any numbers for the cab companies because she was “cold and walking.”
A man reportedly locked his backpack in the bathroom at the O’Shaughnessy Center. He called police for assistance getting it out.
A woman called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report an assault. She refused medical attention. Officers took a report and helped her locate her glasses, which were reportedly knocked off her face during the dispute.
A concerned caller reported a woman smoking marijuana in a vehicle with a baby inside.
