'Collaborative' op-ed seen as being trickery
Bill Baum | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 10 years AGO
Bob Brown, the ultimate politician and mentor to Michael Jamison, and Michael Jamison, a serious politician wannabe, have successfully co-authored an article on multiple newspaper opinion pages that must be answered.
These men were the instigators, founders, and promoters of the infamous Whitefish Range Partnership boondoggle that the Flathead National Forest is planning on using for their so-called collaborative forest management planning input representing special interests despite the outrage from the true, large, environmental community.
The problem is: There was nothing collaborative about the Whitefish Range Partnership. The committee members were carefully selected, and they met in secret, to accommodate only a few “pseudo-environmentalists” that would “play ball” and agree to carve up the Flathead National Forest to satisfy human motorized access and logging usage while denying real environmentalists from serving on the Whitefish Range Partnership that would look out for wildlife retaining old insufficient and inadequate wilderness and obtaining new wilderness designations ahead of human needs to conquer and destroy. What else would one expect from a veteran Republican chairman and an immature, brash, political aspirant?
Furthermore, the long arduous process of subsequent Flathead Forest so-called collaborative forest management planning revision team meetings was likewise not really collaborative but merely done for “show.” You can fool most of the people most of the time. These lifetime tenured public-sector forest employees are masters at sleight-of-hand. They are appointed by, and are financially supported by, politicians who are elected by people voters, while animals cannot vote.
Meanwhile, the animals in the forest are in grave jeopardy from loss of wildlife habitat to logging companies, loss of protection by the Endangered Species Act from efforts of loggers and snowmobilers and politicians, and the threat of new and renewed hunting and trapping licenses from a very small vocal group of maniacal Montanans. All this provoked by a couple of politicians wanting to have their way. No compromise here. Can all of you people be fooled all of the time?

Raising the red pollution flag
Not feeling any urgency to save lives from the pollution from the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company, nothing is getting done with any haste to acquire Super Funds monies to clean up the mess. The new owners of the CFAC, Glencore plc, could care less….as it is saving them money. Their claim of contribution is to pass the obligation to the former owner Atlantic Richfield and BP plc. And, of course, there are the ridiculous findings from well tests, reported to US Senator Jon Tester, that no significant pollution was found. Not much social license here.
How to run against Sen. Tester
I know U.S. Sen. Jon Tester. I did my best to help elect him for both of his senatorial campaigns in the past. He is affable, poised, gregarious, articulate, a good public speaker, a good fund-raiser, and charismatic. It will be difficult for any new Democrat candidate to defeat him in the next Democratic primary campaign in 2018.
Wake up, you Trumpsters - you elected a madman
So what will it take for undereducated, uninformed Montanans to realize they voted in a madman as president of the United States? After all they don’t read, don’t watch real TV news, have no idea what Trump actually does as POTUS. They get all their false information from a phony TV news entertainment show called Fox News, and listen to the former drug addict Rush Limbaugh rant on the radio. They are incapable of discerning the truth from false news and lies.
