As winter weather affected Flathead Valley roads on Saturday, law officers, fire departments, ambulances and towing services were busy scrambling to a host of traffic accidents Saturday evening.

Between 5 and 6 p.m., accidents were reported on Meadow Lake Boulevard, West Reserve Drive, Shady Lane, Rhodes Draw, KM Ranch Road, Boon Road and Martin Camp Road, among other locations.

Most did not involve serious injuries, but across the valley roads were extremely slippery.

A woman at an Evergreen thrift store reported that two men were apparently stealing from the back of the facility. The men told her that they were coming to reclaim belongings of one of the men that had supposedly been dropped off by his wife earlier that day. Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies checked the facility and found everything intact.

A 1997 Caravan that broke down and was parked in a parking lot on U.S. 2 east of Kalispell was missing Friday when the owners returned to pick it up. Supposedly it hadn’t been towed.

Tires and other items were reported stolen from a carport at Forest Ridge Drive in Whitefish.

A woman reported that a man in his 20s was driving recklessly and shouting profanities in a store’s parking lot on U.S. 93 North in Kalispell. The man was spinning out and nearly hit the woman’s daughter, but left the scene.

A man on drugs reportedly assaulted several people in a hotel room on U.S. 2 West. He reportedly punched at least one man, possibly sexually assaulted a woman and threatened to use a Taser.

A used car dealer reported that someone had broken a window to the office, taken a key and stolen a black 2003 Volvo.

A Kalispell man said his son stole $1,500 from him on Christmas Eve. The man had gone into the grocery store while his son remained in the vehicle, but when the man returned, both his son and the cash were gone.

A man walking his dog around a parking lot at Glades Drive in Whitefish discovered his car had been rifled through while he was gone, and a remote car starter was stolen.

A woman reported that her husband and stepdaughter did not show up at a cross-country ski area where they were supposed to meet friends and she was concerned about their safety. Turns out they came home a while later after skiing in a different location.

A West Glacier man reported that a Remington 12-gauge was stolen from his garage while he was out of town.

A man and his girlfriend were reportedly attacked by six people in Hungry Horse, resulting in a bloody nose for him and a split lip for her. No further information was available.

A man going for a walk with his son and dog in Happy Valley wasn’t very happy when he lost contact with both the son and the dog. Fortunately, when he arrived back home, they were waiting for him.

A mother and daughter were reportedly assaulted by another woman when they were on their way to a bar in Hungry Horse. No medical attention was needed.

Several hit-and-run accidents were reported on Friday. Montana Highway Patrol responded to incidents on Foothill Road and Tall Pines Court in Bigfork; Kalispell Police responded to one on East Idaho.

A person called Whitefish Police to report being harassed “sexually and otherwise” by an employer. The employer supposedly will not let the reporting party work any more.

A woman on Lupfer Avenue said a man has pictures of her and is threatening to post them publicly if she doesn’t send him more. The woman alluded to the fact that these may be “inappropriate” pictures.

Columbia Falls Police took a report of a possibly blind dog that may have been hit by a car and was bleeding in a parking lot on Railroad Street. Employees were able to secure the dog and place him in a blanket, and the dog’s owner arrived to retrieve the dog.

Someone reported to Kalispell Police that a man on College Avenue might be hunting deer in the woods with a bow and arrow. Actually, he was shooting at a target and lost an arrow, which led him to wander around in search of it.

A stove fire on Ninth Avenue West on Christmas Eve resulted in a lot of smoke and commotion, but no serious trouble.

A man who had been living in his car in a parking lot on U.S. 2 West called to report that he was feeling very cold and had a heart condition. An ambulance was dispatched.

A 57-year-old woman having an asthma attack on Liberty Street was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center after receiving CPR on site.

Whitefish Fire Department responded to a structure fire on East Second Street at 6 p.m. Saturday.
