Irene Woltering of Hayden, Idaho, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 16, 2014.

Born May 11, 1926, to Henry and Lydia Zimmerman, near the North Dakota border in Macintosh, S.D. The family moved to Hayden, Idaho, when she was 11.

She married Harold Woltering June 19, 1946, in Thompson Falls, Mont. Irene and Harold lived many years at their lakefront home on Lake Pend Oreille, at Cape Horn Mountain. They spent much of their time building the house and cabin, along with beautiful stone work, that they, their children and spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family loved. Many great years of fishing, swimming, boating, and viewing the beauty of the lake were enjoyed.

Irene sold her home at Cape Horn in 2012, and moved to a retirement community in Hayden. In addition to helping build their house at Cape Horn and being a dedicated mother, Irene's talents didn't end there. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, and quilter. She passed much of that handiwork and skills on to her children.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband Harold, parents Henry and Lydia, and seven brothers. Survivors include her son Sterling "Lou" Woltering (Kay) of Mayhill, N.M., their two children Hal Woltering of Spartanburg, S.C., and Lisa Curtis (Todd) of Yuma, Ariz., and their three children - Mason, Jackson, and Taylor; daughter Sherry Conklin (Warren) of Hayden, and their four children - Jason of Hayden, Shawn of Bayview, Idaho; Andrea and her son Malachi of Hayden, and Emily Conklin of Mount Vernon, Wash.

At the time of her death, Irene was attending Hayden Bible Church.

There was a celebration in Heaven of her arrival and reunion with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and husband Harold. A spring memorial service will be announced at a later date.
