Post Falls second after opening day of North Idaho Rumble

COEUR d'ALENE - Nathan Hill (113 pounds), Casey Benton (113), Alius De La Rosa (120), Drake Foster (126), Steven Zettel (132), Tyler Wolf (138), Ryan Failor (195) and Elijah Bennett (220) advanced to the semifinals for Post Falls, which is second with 55 points after the first day of the North Idaho Rumble on Friday at Coeur d'Alene High.
Brian Edelblute (106), Tyler Siegford (113), Tyson Hendricks (120), Austin Hoobler (126), Brandon Mailhot (160) and Conor Shepherd (220) advanced to the semis for Lakeland, which is third with 51 points.
"I think we're wrestling really well," Lakeland coach Zach Horsley said. "It's getting late in the season and I think we're peaking at the right time."
Mike Kelly (98), Kaleb Maciosek (98), Mike Bingham (106), Mario Peregrina (126), Colton Johnson (160), Hudson Staub (182), Phoenix Duncan (195) and Jake Lunceford (285) advanced for Coeur d'Alene, which is fourth with 49 points.
Lewiston leads with 63 points.
Wrestling resumes today with consolation rounds at 9 a.m., followed by the semifinals at 11. Championship finals are scheduled for around 4 p.m.

ST. MARIES - Logan Feasline scored 16 points as the Lumberjacks ran past the visiting Spartans in nonleague play.
St. Maries, which trailed 25-23 at halftime, outscored Priest River 25-6 in the third quarter to blow the game open.
"Typically, our third quarters haven't been that good," St. Maries coach John Bisson said. "We knew we had to concentrate on that and jump on them. Offensively, we were able to get some better looks and were more patient in our offense."
Leighton Gertje had eight points and 10 rebounds, Jacob Greer eight points and seven rebounds and Dillon Michael four assists for St. Maries (6-6), which hosts Kellogg in the "Brawl for the Ball" spirit game today.
Hunter Hartwig scored 16 points for Priest River (1-15), which travels to Lakeland next Friday.

Jeremiah Chersin scored 15 points and Cole Burke had four steals for North Idaho Christian (14-7, 11-3 MCL), which faces Christian Center in the opening round of the Mountain Christian League tournament at The Oaks Academy next Thursday in Spokane Valley.
