Little Guy wrestling begins Feb. 17

The Whitefish Little Guy wrestling program begins Feb. 17.

Practices will be held at the middle school in the upstairs gym area every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with competitions held on Saturday. The program last six weeks.

Grades 5-8 practice from 3:45-5:15 p.m. Grades K-4 will practice from 5:30-6:45 p.m.

Friday practices will be an inter-squad competition to help the wrestlers prepare for tournaments and the live-match atmosphere.

Cost is $25 and includes a team T-shirt. A team singlet and shoes are provided for wrestlers that do no have their own.

The Takedown tournament is scheduled for Feb. 22. The Unit 1 Qualifier is scheduled for March 15.

The goal of Little Guy is for every participant to have fun and develop a love of the sport by creating an environment that promotes skill development and personal achievement.

Rehberg to attend rally for Jesus statue

Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg will attend a public rally in Whitefish on Nov. 10 in support of the World War II statue of Jesus on Big Mountain. Rehberg will be at the VFW Post 276 on Baker Avenue at 1 p.m.
