Medeiros, a senior from Lake City High and North Idaho College, was named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for the fall quarter of 2013. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 cumulative grade point average or better and play in at least half of the team's competition.

Wimpenny, a junior from Post Falls High, was selected to the Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference team. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, maintaining a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled at school in the previous two semesters.

Wardell, a junior from Post Falls High, finished second in the Cougar Indoor Meet on Saturday with a throw of 51-feet, 8 1/2 inches.

Wardell, a sophomore from Post Falls High, threw a personal high of 44-4 in the weight throw in the Idaho Open in Moscow, finishing seventh in the event on Jan. 25.

Cassandra Thompson

Thompson, a 6-foot-2 junior post from Timberlake High in Spirit Lake, scored a career-high 23 points on 10-of-13 from the floor for the Pilots (12-10, 5-6 West Coast Conference) in a 74-73 loss to visiting San Francisco on Thursday. Thompson has started all 22 games, averaging nine points and 6.9 rebounds a game this season.

Walton, a freshman from Post Falls High, finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.46 seconds at the Cougar Indoor Meet on Saturday in Pullman.

Rhianna Grossman

Carroll track and field

Grossman, a junior from Lake City High, was named the Frontier Conference women's indoor track athlete of the week on Jan. 28 after winning the women's 5,000-meter run in 17:36.82 and 3,000-meter run in 10:05.53 at the Idaho Collegiate Meet in Moscow.

Erin Legel

Great Falls basketball

Legel, a 5-foot-5 sophomore point guard from Coeur d'Alene High, had 16 points and nine assists for the Argos (12-11, 2-8 Frontier Conference) in a 75-67 loss to Montana Tech on Friday.

. Legel is averaging 17.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and a conference-high 6.3 assists a game in 23 games.

Emerson, a 6-foot junior center, who played basketball at North Idaho College, had 14 points and six rebounds for the Orediggers (8-9, 4-6) in a win against Great Falls on Saturday in Butte.
