HELENA — Glacier had one individual champion — Arik Lybeck (145) — and two second-place finishers — Justin Gibson (98) and Cody Decker (126) — at the Western AA seeding wrestling tournament on Saturday at Helena High.

Flathead did not advance a wrestler to the championship final, but had four wrestlers place third.

No team totals were kept.

The top eight individuals advance to the state tournament in Billings, which begins Friday.

Glacier coach Ross Dankers said the Wolfpack qualifed 16 of the 19 wrestlers who competed.

“It was a real good tournament,” he said.

“The kids had a good mentality. It was good to have 13 in the top five.”

Placing third for Flathead were Hunter Rush (98), Miles Terry (120), Cameron Mantel (152) and Axel Bladholm (heavyweight).
