John Lawrence Wilcoxson, 75 years old, passed away Saturday February 1, 2014 at Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene. He resided in Potlatch, Idaho. John was born April 11, 1938, in Pueblo, Colo. He was the eldest of eight children. His family moved to Potlatch in the 1950s.
John served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Guam as a Seabee.
John worked as a Sawyer and a Foreman for the Potlatch Sawmill for over 30 years. He was a supervisor of disassembling, both for the Potlatch and Coeur d’Alene sawmills.
John is often thought of as “The Jack of All Trades” and his abundance of knowledge and life experience led to telling many intriguing stories. He was an avid reader and an outdoorsman.
John was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, his daughter Lisa, and two grandchildren. He is survived by wife Eldene, daughters Leta of Post Falls and Terri-Ann of Moscow, as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
