ROYAL CITY - If you've been looking for a way to serve your community, the Royal Slope fire districts have a great idea for you.
Royal Slope Fire Districts Nos. 10 and 11 are in need of new volunteer firefighters and/or EMTs, according to Captain Christian Davis, the public information officer.
"If you, or someone you know, are looking for an exciting opportunity to serve your local community and really make a difference, then please consider joining the fire department," Davis said.
"Our firefighters and EMTs are proud and dedicated in helping our local citizens and neighbors during their time of need," he added. "Some of these people are your neighbors."
Royal Slope firefighters and EMTs serve an area of more than 500 square miles in Grant County. They respond to all types of emergencies, such as fires, motor vehicle collisions, aircraft crashes, medical emergencies and rope rescues.
Royal Slope firefighters and EMTs also help out at community events such as football games, fairs and festivals.
"We have a friendly and dedicated training program that will help you develop the skills needed to respond to emergencies," Davis said. "All you need is a passion for helping others and a willingness to give us jus two hours a week of your time to train."
Applications may be picked up at the Fire Departments' office at 336 Camelia Street in Royal City or by calling Captain Christian Davis at 425-359-0566 or 509-346-2658. Applications are due by April 30.
"Please join now and help us protect this great community, our families and our neighbors," Davis said.
