Lakeside loses lead late in playoff opener

KELLOGG - Jordan Browning found Emily Nelson for the go-ahead score with 19 seconds remaining, lifting the Wallace Miners past the Lakeside Knights 47-44 in Game 1 of the best-of-3 1A Division I District 1 tournament Tuesday night at Andrews Gymnasium.
A 17-foot jumper by Lakeside's Kim Duncan hit off the back of the rim with three seconds remaining.
Browning scored 14 points for Wallace (15-4).
Avery Brown-Sonder had 16 points for Lakeside (9-12).
Game 2 is tonight at 7:30 at Lake City High in Coeur d'Alene.

KELLOGG - Lyndsie Kiebert scored 22 points and Annie Wurm added 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Wampus Cats eliminated the Tigers in the semifinal game at Andrews Gymnasium.
Clark Fork (2-17) will play No. 1 seed Kootenai (7-9) tonight at 6 at Lake City High for the district title. The winner advances to a state play-in game Saturday in St. Maries.
Sydney Koenig scored 12 points for Mullan (6-12).
