• Porter joins Kootenai Health Foundation board
The Kootenai Health Foundation announced that Russ Porter, CEO at Mountain West Bank, has accepted a position on the foundation's board. Porter will be joining the nine-member board and newly elected officers for 2014: Linda Fournier, chairman, Mike Chapman, vice-chairman, Steve Griffitts, secretary, Peter Wagstaff, treasurer, Georgianne Jessen, Denise Leonard, Dr. Albert Martinez, and John Young.
Porter moved to Coeur d'Alene in 2008 to join Mountain West Bank. He has a bachelor's degree in business from University of Montana and is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School. During the last 30 years, Porter has been involved in community banking in Montana and Idaho. His first experience in banking was as a teller which led to lending and various administrative positions, and culminating in his current CEO position at Mountain West Bank. Porter has been married to Kim for 32 years, has two grown children and a German shepherd. As a family they enjoy the outdoors especially playing golf, fishing, and biking.
Founded in 1983, the Foundation is an organization of volunteers who encourage private support to help Kootenai Health meet the health care needs of North Idaho by providing services and facilities that Kootenai Health might not otherwise provide.
• Hippo Car wash tabs new managers
Hippo Car Wash, a local automated tunnel car wash company, has named Mitch Petit as its new operations manager and named Cody Spencer as its new marketing and sales manager.
Petit, with Hippo Car Wash since 2013, will be in charge of managing on-site operations and increasing the Coeur d'Alene car wash's level of service, including spearheading Hippo's efforts to provide "the cleanest vehicle wash around."
Spencer has been an active member of the Coeur d'Alene community since 2003. He will be in charge of marketing Hippo Car Wash and increasing sales production.
Both Petit and Spencer come from local Coeur d'Alene families and are Coeur d'Alene High School alumni.
• Mountain West promotes Bailey
Mountain West Bank announced the promotion of Besse Bailey to the position of vice president and manager of the Commercial Loan Department in Mountain West Bank's Spokane office.
Bailey joined Mountain West in 2007 as a commercial lender in the Coeur d'Alene office before moving to the Spokane branch in 2011. Prior to joining Mountain West, she worked at FirstBank NW as a commercial loan assistant and commercial lender. She was born and raised in Idaho, and attended college at Western Washington University, where she earned her bachelor's degree, with a concentration in finance and economics.
Mountain West Bank, a division of Glacier Bank, has served communities throughout Idaho, northern Utah and eastern Washington for 20 years.
