LEWISTON - Coeur d'Alene led by three points going into the final match, but Lewiston won by pin at heavyweight to triumph 38-35 on Thursday night at Booth Hall.

"It was exciting," Coeur d'Alene coach Jeff Moffat said of the close loss. "It was a great dual, we had some chances to win some matches. It came down to the heavyweight. We wish we could've won, but we feel good coming out of it. You can't blame it one kid. We were happy with it."

Colton Johnson of Coeur d'Alene won by pin over Adam Hug at 170 pounds. Damion Rawson, who filled in for Hudson Staub (flu) at 182, won by decision in his second match of the season.

"It was a good end-of-the-year dual and we wanted to get into districts on a high note," Moffat said.

Coeur d'Alene returns to action Feb. 22 at the 5A Region I tournament at Lakeland.

POST FALLS - Seniors Stephen Ost (152) and Ryan Failor (195) had pins to spark the Trojans past the visiting Timberwolves in the regular season finale for both teams.

"It was nice to see them go out with pins on senior night," Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. "It was cool to see (sophomore) David Booth get a win at 120. Kayleb Ferris (a freshman at 170), not a starter either, was trailing 7-1, and reversed the kid on his back and pinned him in the third period."

Next for both teams is the 5A Region 1 tournament Feb. 22 at Lakeland High.

SPIRIT LAKE - Senior Noah Smith bumped up a weight to 220 and registered a pin in the second match of the night to kick-start the visiting Hawks' victory over the district rival Tigers in the regular season finale for both teams.

"He did a great job getting a pin for us; it really set the tempo for the dual," Lakeland coach Rob Edelblute said.

Conor Shepherd (285), Bryan Edelblute (106) and Brandon Mailhot (170) also had pins for the Hawks.

Both teams return to action Feb. 22 at Lakeland High, the Hawks in the 4A Region 1 tournament, Timberlake in the 3A District 1 tourney.
