United Way of Kootenai County is gearing up for the 32nd annual Spring Dash, a 5-mile run/walk and tot-trot fundraiser.

All middle and high school students in the community are asked put their artistic skills to use and enter the 2014 Spring Dash T-Shirt Contest. The design winner will receive $100 from Bank of America, community recognition in the local newspaper, and the opportunity to work with the T-shirt company to see the process from start to finished product.

The winning design will be printed on more than 2,000 T-shirts and distributed to all Spring Dash racers.

Designs must be submitted on paper to United Way of Kootenai County, 501 E. Lakeside Ave., Suite 3, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Colors are highly encouraged and designs may be in any medium but must include "Spring Dash 2014," "32nd Annual," the location "Coeur d'Alene, Idaho," and the event's signature spring symbol: tulips.

Entries must be delivered or postmarked on or before March 21, 2014. Each entry must include the entrant's name, address, and phone number on the back.

The Spring Dash committee will have full rights to the winning entry. All other entries may be returned upon request.

The 32nd Annual Spring Dash, sponsored by Bank of America and the Coeur d'Alene Press, will take place April 27, and is a qualifying race for Bloomsday's "second seeding." All proceeds will be donated to United Way of Kootenai County.

Race entries are now available at eventbrite.com.
