Woman blames mischief on ex

A Third Street West woman contacted the Kalispell Police Department reporting several acts of criminal mischief she believed to have been committed by her ex-boyfriend, who had also left her harassing messages.

The woman reported her oil filter was unscrewed and all the oil drained out of her vehicle, and that a month earlier, someone broke her mirror. She did not have any evidence or facts supporting her theory, and was told how to apply for a restraining order.

A not-quite-mindful motorist reported her vehicle was stolen while she was inside a Heritage Way store after having left the keys inside the vehicle. It was later located at a Batavia Lane convenience store.

A suspicious man was reported walking around a Windward Way building checking all the doors and flipping people off through the windows.

A binder containing insurance and registration information was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Fifth Avenue East North.

A U.S. 93 man reported another man threatened him and his dog, claiming the dog had gone after the second man’s children.

A group of youths were reported revving their engines and making a lot of noise in a First Avenue West parking lot.

A group of men were sent on their way after being reported throwing beer bottles into a First Avenue West parking lot.

A suspicious man with blood on his hands and face was reported leaving a Hutton Ranch Road store.

A debit card was stolen from a Greatview Drive mailbox and money taken from the resident’s account.

A backpack, another bag and a wallet were stolen from a vehicle on Fourth Avenue West.

Keys, mail, an emergency kit and perfume were stolen from a vehicle on Appleway Drive.

A pit bull mix was reported chasing cats on Katherine Court.


The Whitefish Police Department received several reports of thefts from vehicles on Friday.

A bag of clothing, car tools, a jack, hundreds of CDs and paperwork were stolen from one vehicle and several items stolen from another, unlocked, vehicle on West Second Street, and several items were stolen from a vehicle on Central Avenue.

A group of teenagers too young even to drive were reported drinking beer and refusing to leave a Park Avenue home. The mother of one of them discovered the drinking when she arrived home. Her son was released to her, and another was transported to the Flathead County Juvenile Detention Center.

A woman was arrested after a tow truck driver called police about a slide-off on River Lakes Drive.

A drunk man was turned over to medical responders after a Railway Street school janitor reported his concern for the man.

A man was cited for having an open container in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Railway Street.

Officers were unable to locate a pair of suspicious men reported knocking on a Colorado Avenue door.


A pair of men were reported shoving each other following a crash that Columbia Falls Police Department officers had previously responded to.

A mad motorist reported five gallons of paint fell from another vehicle on Ninth Street West and got all over her vehicle when she drove through it.

A very drunk man was reported lying in the snow on Railroad Street after stumbling in and out of traffic.
