Glacier High School continued its historic speech and debate season by winning the Montana National Forensic League (NFL) District Tournament this weekend in Missoula.
It was the second consecutive year winning the NFL for the Wolfpack, capping off a fourth consecutive AA state title two weeks ago in Kalispell.
Flathead was close on Glacier’s heels, taking third behind Bozeman in overall sweepstakes. The Wolfpack will send six students to this year’s national tournament in Kansas City, Mo., held June 15-20. The Braves will also send six. Both schools qualified several as alternates.
All classes of schools competed in the tournament, 22 schools in all. In speech sweepstakes, Flathead finished second to Glacier. Another student from Columbia Falls also qualified as an alternate.
The top three students qualify automatically for nationals, with another three as alternates, allowing six state-wide for each event.
