EPHRATA - A Moses Lake man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl.

Anthony Wayne Blauert, 26, was arrested this week and charged with child rape after the mother of a 4-year-old girl told police her daughter was inappropriately touched while at her baby-sitter's apartment.

Blauert is the baby-sitter's husband and allegedly fondled the girl while he was alone with her.

The allegations arose after a doctor's visit in which the girl told a physician Blauert touched her inappropriately.

Police and a social worker interviewed the girl and she affirmed her story.

Blauert denied the allegations and, in November, agreed to take a polygraph test. According to police, he showed deception on three key questions about touching the girl during the polygraph.
