COEUR d'ALENE - A group of women who went for a night of dancing Saturday had several items, including an iPhone and a credit card, stolen while they were on the dance floor.
According to a Coeur d'Alene Police Department incident report, the group of women arrived at Splash Bar, located on Sherman Avenue, around 11:30 p.m. Shortly after arriving, the women placed their jackets and purses on a table in the south end of the bar and hit the dance floor.
When they returned to their table, the women realized that their jackets and purses were missing. One of the women decided to contact law enforcement at approximately 2 a.m.
The officer arrived and, according to the report, a male at the bar used an application on his iPad to locate the woman's phone near the intersection of North Eighth Street and East Lakeside Avenue.
Police arrived at the intersection and located a male laying against a building in the location identified on the iPad. The male identified himself to the officer, admitted to being at the bar that night, and denied taking any property while he was there. A search of the man and the surrounding area did not result in any of the property being located.
The woman estimated that the thief stole more than $700 worth of her property.
