EAST WENATCHEE - An unsafe pass by a Moses Lake driver Monday night sent three Wenatchee residents to the hospital after an attempt to avoid a head-on collision. The incident occurred about 18 miles east of East Wenatchee on state Route 28, according to information from the Washington State Patrol.

Tennille L. Kimball, 34, was heading east about 7 p.m. on SR 28 in a 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche when she attempted to pass into oncoming traffic, according to the State Patrol. David L. Snyder, 33, driving west on SR 28 in a 2004 Ford Expedition, was forced to swerve to avoid colliding with Kimball's vehicle, causing Snyder to drive off the road to the right. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its wheels.

Snyder was uninjured in the crash. His three passengers, Marcia J. Snyder, 33, and two juvenile girls were transported to Confluence Health in Wenatchee. The ages of the girls were not released. All four in the vehicle were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the State Patrol.

Kimball reportedly left the scene and continued to drive east on SR 28 and was later located at the junction of state Route 281 and the SR 281 spur in Grant County. The State Patrol escorted her back to the scene of the crash.

The State Patrol determined Kimball's unsafe pass caused the Wenatchee driver to crash and she was charged with hit-and-run.
