Osweiler among NFL players to attend Winter Classic

The annual Winter Classic returns to Whitefish on March 6-9. The charity event features well-known college and NFL football players, and raises money to assist Northwest Montana families with pediatric medical-related costs not covered by insurance.

A few of the celebrity guests attending include Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler, Philadelphia Eagles safety Colt Anderson, St. Louis Rams running back Chase Reynolds, and UM Grizzlies head coach Mick Delaney. Also attending is actor Troy Evans known for his characters on the TV show “ER” and the movie “Ace Ventura.”

This year’s Classic begins with a kick-off party at Casey’s Bar on March 6 a 5:30 p.m. A poker run follows with stops at Great Northern Bar, VFW, Craggy Range, Tupelo Grille and Crush Lounge.

Meet the players Friday at 1 p.m. at the summit house at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

The always fun Play 60 Challenge is Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Whitefish High School gym.

An evening of fine dining and entertainment at the Gala is Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at The Lodge.

Events wrap up with a champagne brunch Sunday at 9 a.m. at Whitefish Lake Restaurant.

Rehberg to attend rally for Jesus statue

Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg will attend a public rally in Whitefish on Nov. 10 in support of the World War II statue of Jesus on Big Mountain. Rehberg will be at the VFW Post 276 on Baker Avenue at 1 p.m.
