Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 11 years, 10 months AGO
Great West Gym Fest returns to Coeur d'Alene this weekend. The event, in its 13th year, is expected to attract thousands of athletes, coaches and spectators to downtown Coeur d'Alene. It starts today, runs through Sunday, and will draw gymnasts from throughout the United States and Canada.
The gymnastics festival takes place at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, where ballroom floors are covered with mats and springboards, and uneven bars and balance beams rise up from the ground.
Stage lighting illuminates the gymnasts' entrances, with smoke and lasers for additional effect.
Competitions begin this morning and continue into the evening. They resume again Saturday morning with "The Big Show" event finals later that night.
The ages of the gymnasts usually range from the single digits into the 20s.
Tickets can be purchased online at showclix.com/event/GreatWestGymfest. Passes for today are $18 for adults, $12 for children. Day passes for Saturday and Sunday are $14 for adults, $9 for children. Passes for "The Big Show" event finals Saturday night are $22.
All access weekend passes are also available for $44 for adults and $30 for children. All access weekend family passes for up to two adults and two children or senior family members cost $110.
Tickets purchased at the door cost an additional $2.
