Moses Lake 16-year-old shot, killled

MOSES LAKE - A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed at around 3 a.m. on Feb. 16 at a home at 6020 Turnkey Road NE in the Larson Housing Area just outside of the city of Moses Lake.

The shooting was targeted and not random, according to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones. No suspect(s) were in custody as of Monday morning.

Detectives have interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence. The Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison took custody of the body, and an autopsy report was expected early this week.

Morrison has confirmed the identity of the homicide victim as Brandon Michael Mende, 16, of Moses Lake.
