Council backs plan to study milfoil, weevils

SANDPOINT — A resolution of support from the Sandpoint City Council could be a valuable tool in helping Lake Pend Oreille Waterkeeper achieve its goals.

According to LPOW board president Steve Holt, the city’s support of a resolution advocating for state policy changes is the first step toward potentially superior milfoil management techniques. Members unanimously passed the measure with the exception of Councilwoman Shannon Williamson, who recused herself due to her conflict of interest as LPOW executive director.
