WEDDING

Mauser-McLeod

Jane Ellen Mauser and Rory McLeod were joyfully married on Sept. 14, 2013, at Hill's Resort in Priest Lake. Jane is the daughter of Gregg and Laurie Mauser of Bayview. Rory is the son of Cameron and Karen McLeod of Mercer Island, Wash.

Hill's Resort became "Camp Jory" for the week of festivities which included wakeboarding, paddle boarding, mountain bike rides, fishing, barbecues and bonfires. The wedding rehearsal dinner was attended by Camp Jory guests at Millie's Restaurant in Priest Lake, hosted by Karen and Cam McLeod. Videos of the bride and groom created by sister-in-law Paige McLeod were shown and dancing followed.

The wedding ceremony was on the beach at Hill's. Ceremony officiant was Gregg Karle of Gig Harbor, uncle of the bride. Jane was given away by her father. Maid of honor was Britt Berg of West Seattle and Bride's Man of Honor was longtime friend Mark Gallup of Fernie, B.C. Also attending the bride were Anna Ellis of West Seattle and Gin Yang of Portland, Ore.

The groom was attended by best friend and best man Sam Larson of Sacramento, Calif., brother of the groom Ian McLeod of Boise, Dr. Brock Tulley of Bonney Lake, Wash., and Teague Barringer of Covington, Wash. Jane was welcomed into the McLeod Clan with the pinning of the McLeod tartan by Ian McLeod.

Music during the ceremony was provided by Cris Lucas of The Rub. Jenny Prince of Bayview designed and created flowers and decorations with a forest/camp theme following the colors of the McLeod tartan. Anna Ellis was Jane's hair designer. Her ivory Alencon lace gown was an Alvina Valenta design from Belltown Bride in Seattle. Reception and dinner followed the ceremony at Hill's Resort in the lodge with Cris Lucas as master of ceremonies. Special guests, the band "The Rub" consisting of cousin of the bride Michael Keop of Coeur d'Alene, Cris Lucas of Spokane and Cary Beare, thrilled the enthusiastic "Camp Jory" guests.

Jane grew up in Coeur d'Alene and was a ski instructor at Silverhorn during her high school years. She graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School and went on to develop the snowboard program at Snowbird, Utah and Treblecomb, New Zealand, and the PSIA snowboard instructor manual. As a U.S. snowboard demo team member and a sponsored snowboarder, she competed in extreme competitions and photoshoots and with her sponsors, tested and developed snowboard gear.

Since "retiring" from the competitive aspect of the sport, Jane has been the international marketing director for Helly Hansen, marketing director for Cascade Designs and now marketing director for one of their brands, MSR outdoor gear in Seattle. Rory is a graduate of Mercer Island High School, University of Washington and a MBA from the University of Washington. He is now a financial manager at Amazon.com. Jane and Rory make their home in West Seattle.
