Northwestern A divisional basketball tournament begins Thursday

The Northwestern A boys and girls divisional basketball tournament begins Thursday evening at Glacier High School with games featuring the fourth and fifth seeds.

At 6 p.m., the girls take the court with Polson (4) facing Whitefish (5). The boys are up next at 7:30 with Polson (4) playing Libby (5).

Semifinal action is set for Friday with games at 3 and 4:30 p.m. for girls and 6 and 7:30 for boys.

Championship games on Saturday are slated for 6 (girls) and 7:30 p.m. (boys).

The Columbia Falls girls and boys are the top seeds for the three-day event.

The Columbia Falls girls are ranked No. 1 in the state. The boys are No. 4.

The top two teams, boys and girls, from the divisional advance to state tournament play in March.

All session passes for $20 and can be purchased at the GHS main office during regular school hours until noon on Thursday and prior to the first game that night.

Single session tickets are for sale each day.
