The Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 10 years, 10 months AGO
The Glacier Wolfpack (13-6 overall, 7-4 Western AA) tallied another conference win on their homecourt Tuesday night, defeating Missoula Hellgate 56-40.
Senior post Cassi Hashley led all scorers and rebounders, recording a double-double as she scored 17 points while grabbing 15 boards.
After climbing in front with a 15-8 first-quarter lead, Glacier added 18 more points in the following period while holding the Knights to another single digit quarter to lead 33-17 at the half.
Glacier didn’t allow a Hellgate player into double-digit scoring figures and cruised the rest of the way for the Western AA victory.
Junior Katie Wiley added 12 points including the lone three-pointer for the Wolfpack while Taylor Loomis scored eight points to help Glacier control the game from the opening tip.
The Knights (5-14, 1-10) were paced by Kylie McWilliams who went 3-4 from the free throw line to help her nine-point effort. Kara Hogan and Claire Hinther each scored seven points for Hellgate.
The Glacier girls will look to continue their winning ways with a 6 p.m. tip-off scheduled for the second crosstown game of the year at Flathead.
