Williams, Whitcomb to speak to NIC boosters today
COEUR d'ALENE - North Idaho College Athletics Director Al Williams and Head Wrestling Coach Pat Whitcomb will speak at the NIC Booster Club Luncheon at noon today at the Coeur d'Alene Resort.
Williams will talk about the proposal for NIC to move conferences from the National Junior College Athletic Association to the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges. Whitcomb will discuss his team's hunt for a 15th national title at the NJCAA National Wrestling Tournament Feb. 28 - March 1 at the Spokane Convention Center.
The NIC Booster Club meets on the second and last Tuesday of the month at noon, typically alternating between the Outback Steakhouse and the Coeur d'Alene Resort. Updates from NIC Coaches are always on the agenda, and the public is welcome to attend. The cost of lunch is not covered.

Idaho's Madison earns fifth WAC honor
DENVER - Stephen Madison added to his collection of Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors on Monday, raking in the award for the fifth time this season.
The Portland, Ore., native averaged 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 block per game while shooting 68.0 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from 3-point range and 82.6 percent from the free throw line while the Vandals picked up victories over CSU Northridge and Grand Canyon last week.
Madison celebrated his senior day with 34 points on 12-of-15 shooting (80.0 percent) while making 9-of-10 free throws, leading the Vandals to an 83-77 win over Grand Canyon.
Madison scored 21 points with eight rebounds and four assists in a 96-88 non-conference win over Cal State Northridge earlier in the week.
