Alpine Theatre Project has announced auditions for its upcoming production of “Pippin,” March 3 at 4:30 p.m. at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center. The production is the spring session of the Alpine Kids Theatre Project arts education program for local high school students.

Auditions are open to all local students from around the Flathead Valley ages 14-18. Students will not need to prepare anything, as material will be provided. However, students should be prepared to sing. ATP is also looking for students with any unique talents, such as magic tricks, acrobatics, etc.

Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday after school at Muldown Elementary School in Whitefish. Final performances will be held April 25-27 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center.

Currently enjoying a sold-out revival on Broadway, “Pippin” tells the tale of a young prince on a death-defying journey to find the meaning of his existence. Will he choose a happy but simple life? Or will he risk it all for a singular flash of glory? With a score composed by Tony Award winning composer/lyricist, Stephen Schwartz (”Wicked,” “Godspell”), and original direction and choreography by the legendary Bob Fosse, “Pippin” is a fantasy fable for all time.

An $80 tuition fee is required for participation, but full and partial scholarships are available to students who require assistance.

Contact Luke Walrath at the ATP office at 862-7469 or aktp@atpwhitefish.org for more information.
