SPIRIT LAKE - Joe Brown had 13 points, six rebounds and three assists to lead the Lakeside Knights past the Wallace Miners 50-46 to win the best-of-3 game 1A Division I District 1 tournament on Wednesday night at Timberlake High.
"It was a good way to continue our season," Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman said. "Wallace came out really tough. They doubled us up in the first quarter and played well. It wasn't our best game, so we returned the favor in the second quarter by going up by one. In the second half, it was pretty scrappy. We built a 10-point lead during parts of the fourth quarter and they made it close. We were 7 for 12 from the free-throw line and usually we're better than that."
