Man pleads guilty to attempted murder

SANDPOINT — A Post Falls man accused stabbing his estranged wife near Priest Lake pleaded guilty Thursday to attempted murder.
In exchange for James Leverne “Vern” Carlton’s plea, an attendant charge of using a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony was dismissed as part of a plea agreement with the state, court records show.
