MOSES LAKE - Gilbert Lee Williamson, wanted in connection with the Dec. 10 shooting of Dale Olmos near Moses Lake, was caught Sunday morning at a Moses Lake home.

Authorities have been searching for Williamson, 46, since Dec. 11, when Olmos, 28, was found in rural Moses Lake with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to police reports, Williamson allegedly drove Olmos and three other people, including Jordan Wiester, 21, and Jose Rivera, 16, out to a field near Hiawatha Road and Road 5 Northeast, where Wiester, River and Olmos exited the vehicle and began to argue. Wiester allegedly returned to the vehicle, grabbing a gun from the glove box and shooting Olmos in the head. Wiester and Rivera are in custody and facing charges of first-degree attempted murder. Olmos remains in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital.

Prosecutors charged Williamson with first-degree rendering criminal assistance for his role in the shooting.

Just after midnight Sunday, Moses Lake police received a tip that Williamson was at a home in the 300 block of North Earl Road. Officers located Williamson inside the home and he was arrested.

Williamson also had a district court warrant for failing to appear for third-degree possession of stolen property and two Adams County warrants for failing to appear for a financial review hearing.

"I am thankful for the tips sent to us by citizens, and to the Moses Lake Police Department for catching Williamson and getting him into custody," Sheriff Tom Jones said. "This is another example of how community and interagency cooperation helps fight crime."
