Kathryn Florence McCloskey, 94, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away quietly and comfortably Friday morning, January 3, 2014, at the Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene.

Kathryn McCloskey was born August 5, 1919, in Elmhearst, Illinois. She became the epitome of what a loving mother and wife should be. She valued her 73 year marriage with her husband, John McCloskey, as well as treasured her two children, Gene and Kim. Kathryn will forever be remembered as a loyal wife, loving mother, extraordinary grandmother, compassionate friend and fierce bridge player. Stating that Kathryn will be missed is an understatement. God has gained another angel.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, John McCloskey; two children: Gene McCloskey and Kim Holmes; son-in-law, John Holmes; daughter-in-law Gail McCloskey; five grandchildren: Julie Castillo, Ryan Holmes, Katie Holmes, Gina McCloskey, and Annie McCloskey; two great-grandchildren: Gus Castillo and Gabriel Castillo; and one sweet four-legged companion black Labrador, Josie.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the North Idaho Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 18, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Please visit Kathryn's online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
