Virginia Rae Strouse, 88, a long-time Coeur d'Alene resident, died Monday, January 6, 2014 following a gradual decline. She was predeceased by her parents, Ida Mae and Charles Brown Ford, her brother, Donald Ford, and her husband, Ralph E. Strouse in 2011.
Virginia was born in Wenatchee, WA, on September 16, 1925, and moved to Coeur d'Alene in her senior year of high school. She and Ralph were married November 3, 1946, in Twin Falls and spent 20 years on various marine corps bases as they raised their family. When Ralph retired in 1962, they resettled in Coeur d'Alene before moving to their last home in Spokane in 2010.
Virginia is survived by three children: Susan Beauchamp (Dennis), Vancouver, WA; Connie McGavran (Howard) of Spokane, WA;; and Eric Strouse,of Otis Orchards, WA; as well as six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
