Shelter offers cat adoption special

The Flathead County Animal Shelter is currently offering a $25 cat adoption special during January for all felines except kittens.

The fee includes all vaccinations, spaying/neutering, deworming and microchipping.

The shelter is located at 225 Cemetery Road, south of Kalispell, on U.S. 93.  Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 pm. Saturday.

Climate change awards announced

Climate Smart Glacier Country announced its Climate Smart Champions during a ceremony at the Earth Day celebration April 21 in Whitefish. Awards were presented to businesses, youth and an individual who are leaders in building local solutions to climate change challenges.
