Former major league pitcher Steve Ontiveros will lead a pitching clinic for local baseball coaches Jan. 18-19 at the Wave.
Ontiveros played for the Oakland A’s for eight years, and had stops with the Phillies, Red Sox, Angels and Mariners. He was the ERA champ in 1995 and was chosen for the All Star team in mid 90s.
At the pitching clinic, Ontiveros will be teaching the proper mechanics and delivery for all levels.
Ontiveros is the owner of The Spin Doctor Academy in Scottsdale, Ariz., and the Players Choice Academey.
“I have been personally working with Steve for over a year and have learned so much about pitching,” said Ray Queen with Babe Ruth baseball. “From the fastball to the curveball to the change-up, Steve will be able to help you teach pitching the way the big leaguers pitch.”
Cost of the clinic is $40 per coach for six hours of instruction.
Call Ray Queen with any questions at 253-0857.
