Sorry 'Bout What?

POLSON — When Michael Brandt and Polson Running scheduled the 1st Annual Sorry ‘Bout That Half Marathon three months ago, they were expecting the worst as far as weather was concerned.
So when Saturday rolled around and temperatures climbed into the 40s, the wind and the rain in the atmosphere didn’t seem that bad.
“I really think that the weather was better than what I anticipated,” Brandt, Polson Running’s president said. “We set the date three months ago, and I was really expecting there to be a foot of snow on the ground and snow in the air blowing in your face. The wind and the rain weren’t really that bad.”
Brandt—running his first-ever half marathon—and 50 other racers circuited the northern Mission Valley, paced by world-class runner and Polson native Jason Delaney’s 1 hour, 13 minute, 33 second race.
Race organizers were happy with the turnout, Brandt said.
“I think for the weather that was forecasted, for it being the time of year that it was, it was a pretty good turnout,” he said.
Trisha Drobeck of Missoula posted the top women’s time, finishing in 1:23:45.
